The Open Hardware Summit (OHS) invites submissions for the fifth annual summit, to be held on September the 30th and October the 1st in Rome, Italy. This year OHS will be open to the public and will span on two days.
This year theme will be:
“From Open Making to Open Manufacturing”
We are seeking submissions for talks and workshops from individuals and groups working with open hardware and related areas.
Submissions are due by 25th of May 2014 (CET).
Notification of accepted proposals will happen by early June.ย

ALL submissions will be reviewed by several reviewers and Chairs.
Funding: Accepted contributors will have airfare PAID by the organization.
Topics of interest for the summit include, but are not limited to:

- Licensing
- Software/Hardware

- Sustainability

SUBMISSIONS:
Talks
- Expected duration for talks is between 7 and 20 minutes, depending on the number and quality of submissions.
- All talks to be plenary (i.e. presented to the entire summit audience).
- Talk submissions primarily containing marketing for a product, non-profit, or company, will not be accepted. However, talks that share knowledge and insight derived from work on commercial products or organizations are welcome.
Workshops and Co-Creative Sessions
- Expected duration for workshops is between 1h and 3h depending on the number and quality of submissions.
- Workshop submissions primarily containing marketing for a product, non-profit, or company, will not be accepted. However, talks that share knowledge and insight derived from work on commercial products or organizations are welcome.
